And so, another year draws towards a close. The semester is over, Christmas is near, and here I sit, sipping genuine Puerto Rican coffee and listening to smooth jazz. Tomorrow begins another long trip home, to see family and friends, for a three week vacation. I can imagine little Elyssa playing with her toys by the fireplace, the annual church Christmas production, and my family united for the first time since last Christmas. Ah, what tidings of joy this season brings.

Life is a balance; you can’t experience joy without having lived through pain, laugh without having cried, or live without having been near death.

Directer's ShowcaseAnd thus ended the first night of Director’s Showcase. I’m tired, sore, and happy… Showcase is a collection of twenty different plays directed by twenty different students, each twenty minutes long.

GodspellWell, the show opened tonight. What show? Why, Godspell of course, that which has (willingly) sucked my life away for the past week or so. I’m on the set/props crew — you know, those guys who run across stage during intermission. Fun times, although honestly the 5:00-12:00pm hours are a little much during mid-terms. ;-)

Something to laugh about… why? I really have no clue.

“Dere’s four oceans — Pakific, At–At–Atlantic, Arktic, and Indian; Guess what?”
“What?”
“I like the Indian Ocean the best!”

Little kids are awesome.

In honor of the upcoming anniversary of September 11th, 2001

*Phew* Just got back from celebrating the conclusion of cattle-calls — the required auditions for my college degree. There are some amazing actors out there, let me tell you, and it’s exciting to be a part of a real theatre group. “Course, if there’s one thing I can’t stand about theatre, it’s getting onstage, alone, at the beginning of an evening, to open a show cold.”

Oh yeah, I also went to work today, 25 floors up.

Well, that was a long couple of weeks…

It’s official — I’m leaving for a trip across Europe, and afterwards to college. Until mid-August, I bid you all adieu!
